This case again highlights the importance of preventative measures — particularly the role of PACT site signage in deterring crime.

Over a 40 day period WA Police received, 26 burglary reports related to building sites located in Hilbert, Haynes, and Forrestdale areas— only 3 of these involved building sites of PACT members.

This data reinforces what we already know: PACT site signage works.

Why PACT Signage Matters:

✔️ Encourages Public Reporting
Provides a direct contact number for community members to report suspicious activity.

✔️ Increases Site Surveillance
Enhances neighbourhood awareness and visibility around construction security.

✔️ Acts as a Deterrent
Warns would-be offenders that theft and trespass will be investigated.

✔️ Supports Investigations
Signals that sites are monitored and part of a responsive network.

✔️ Protects Builder Assets
Reduces risk of theft, damage, and costly project delays.

✔️ Strengthens Partnerships
Demonstrates alignment between builders, PACT, and WA Police.

✔️ Promotes Accountability
Sends a clear message: criminal activity will not go unnoticed or unpunished.

We encourage all PACT members to prominently display PACT site signage across all active sites.

If you require additional signage or have any questions about placement or reporting processes, please contact us.

Together, we’re reducing crime and protecting WA’s building industry.
