$15000 of Stolen Roof Sheeting Recovered

PACT Site Security investigators have been working closely with Mundijong Police and Armadale District - WA Police Force Rapid High Harm Offender Response in relation to the ongoing large-scale theft of metal roofing in the southern suburbs, including Byford, Baldivis, Piara Waters, Southern River, Hilbert and Forrestdale.

PACT Site Security investigators provided Police with crucial evidence and information leading to the execution of a search warrant at a property in Mundijong, where Police located and seized a large quantity of roofing, valued at approximately $10-15K.

A male and female have now been charged with unlawful possession whilst further inquiries are made to confirm which building site the roofing was stolen from. The main offender being released on bail with a night-time curfew imposed.

We would ask all builders in the above areas to contact PACT Site Security or the Western Australia Police Force if they have recenty had significant amounts of roofing sheets stolen from building sites, which has previously not been reported.

Police and PACT investigators are continuing inquiries into the thefts and it further highlights the importance of reporting all crime. Manufacturers and distributors have identified up to 16 different coils of sheeting, meaning that 20-30 residential building sites could potentially be affected by this ongoing theft. It is likely that a vast majority of these thefts have not been reported to Police, making it even more important that builders come forward and report any crime they may have experienced.

Raising awareness of the prevalence of such illegal activities is paramount in to inhibit further criminal activity. Police will continue to investigate this incident with the aim of bringing those responsible to justice, while also encouraging members of the public to make sure they report any suspicious behaviour they may have witnessed.
