Ongoing Investigation Come to Fruition

PACT Investigators have been conducting ongoing investigations into the increased theft of hot water units from building sites and the sale of stolen goods on social media and buy-and-sell pages.

After identifying an individual, we liaised closely with Fremantle Detectives which resulted in the charging of a male and female with burglary and stealing offences committed in Baldivis, Wellard, Hammond Park, Treeby, Cockburn, Atwell and Wandi.

An adult male was arrested, and search warrants resulted in significant amounts of stolen goods being recovered. A further search warrant at an address in Dawesville resulted in a female accomplice being charged with several stealing offences.

The male was charged with

6 x Burglary and Commit Offence

11 x Stealing

5 x Property Laundering

1 x Possessing Stolen Property

4 x Trespassing

1 x Gains Benefit by Fraud.

During the investigation, another three offenders were also charged with Stealing and Burglary offences on building sites.

This investigation has again highlighted the importance of reporting ALL construction industry crime as this allows both PACT Site Security and the Western Australia Police Force to allocate appropriate resources to identify offenders and ultimately reduce crime.

Let's hope the courts can provide the appropriate punishment, including the District Court, for Property Laundering Offences.
