Another One Bites the Dust

GPS Tracking strikes again! This time, a career criminal broke into a house in Golden Bay and snatched a Smeg oven and hotplate, still in their boxes. But little did he know, we had them tracked every step of the way.

Thanks to our trusty GPS devices, the stolen goods were tracked from Golden Bay to a private address in Greenfields. Our PACT investigators quickly teamed up with the WA Police Force-Mandurah Detectives, who were about to execute a search warrant when the offender left the address in his vehicle, loaded with stolen goods.

Police attempted to stop the vehicle, but the offender didn’t feel the need to have a chat. Police chased the vehicle with speeds up to 167kph (available care of our GPS Tracking data). The offender eventually drove down a bush track in north Yunderup, driving into a swamp and submerging his vehicle up to the windows. The wet behind-the-ears offender disappeared into the surrounding swamp, and we imagine the water may have been a tad cool at 9.30am.

Police scoured the area with the help of the canine unit and even Polair, but despite their best efforts, the crook managed to slip through their fingers. Believed to be hiding in the water as FLIR thermal imagining failed to pick up any activity. Nevertheless, the stolen property and additional loot were found in his abandoned vehicle.

A fleet-footed, wet and cold male was later nabbed at his home address and is now facing a barrage of charges, not just for several burglaries and stealings, but also for his attempt to evade the Police. Our members' property worth $1500 was recovered intact, with Police seizing several bunches of construction site keys. Further investigation into the other property recovered revealed the offender had a busy night committing at least two other burglaries, a Summit Homes Group site in Baldivis and another unnamed building site in Secret Harbour where a range hood, door handles and toilet cisterns were stolen, so let just say he is in deep sh*t. He has been refused bail and will be detained at his majesty’s pleasure for some time!

So here we are again with our members having caught yet another morally bankrupt career criminal in the act! These thieves would have continued their rampage if it weren't for PACT GPS tracking strategies employed by our builders. It's high time the rest of the residential building industry woke up and started reporting these crimes. Let's put an end to this madness together!

To building site thieves, think twice before targeting our member's sites because GPS tracking technology will catch you eventually!
